Ce matin, après notre petit déjeuner à l’hôtel, Elpida, rencontrée la veille, viendra nous rendre visite et nous couvrir de cadeau avant notre départ.

Il nous faudra faire rien que 4 kms sur une petite route goudronnée pour rejoindre le village de Krinides. A l’entrée de ce dernier, sur notre gauche nous découvrirons les ruines archéologiques de Filippes. C’est ici que fût baptisée Lydia, la 1ere femme chrétienne en Europe, par Paul.

Un peu plus loin, nous rencontrerons Ilias et son amie, marchands de fruits au bord de la route. Ces derniers, tellement contents de rencontrer des pèlerins, nous offrirons pommes et abricots.

Une petite route asphaltée en parallèle de l’axe principal de Kavala nous guidera jusqu’au village de Amigdaleonas où nous prendrons un repas tiré du sac. C’est ici que nous découvrirons avec stupeur le prix des carburants en Grèce.

Peu après, un gros engin agricole procédera aux premières récoltes de tournesol.

Une dernière montée de 300 mètres, dans un 1er temps le long de la grande route et de l’autoroute puis ensuite par un petit sentier à travers une très belle forêt nous emmènera sur les hauteurs de la ville de Kavala.

Par un petit sentier nous rejoindrons les faubourgs de la ville, d’où nous prendrons un bus pour rejoindre notre hébergement du jour « Merry House ».

En allant dîner, nous aurons l’occasion d’apprécier le très bel aqueduc de la ville.
