Départ ce matin, après l’orage de la nuit, avec un beau soleil.

Comme l’étape d’aujourd’hui devait nous emmener en Slovaquie dans la capitale Bratislava, dès ce matin, nous décidons de marcher d’un pas alerte pour rejoindre la ville de Hainburg et de là prendre un bus qui fait la rotation entre la Slovaquie et l’Autriche.

Jusqu’à Hainburg, l’étape fût d’une monotonie indescriptible, sans doute la pire des étapes jusqu’à présent, sous une chaleur extrême et tout ceci sans ombre.

Nous avons dû parcourir toute l’étape sur une piste cyclable en permanence sur une digue pour contenir les crues du Danube. Pour couronner le tout, nous devons quitter cette piste sur un pont interminable au-dessus de plusieurs cours d’eau et du Danube (plus de 2 kms).

Comme si cela ne suffisait pas, nous voulions être plus malins et prendre une piste parallèle sous le pont pour éviter la circulation routière, mais malheureusement au bout d’un petit km notre piste s’arrête et il va falloir tout recommencer.

Tant pis pour nous, mais nous le ferons et malgré tout nous arriverons très tôt à Hainburg. Nous oui, mais pas le bus qui devait nous emmener à Bratislava, sur les indications de notre hôte de ce matin et de notre cher Google.

En fait, il s’agit d’un bus qui fait des rotations régulières entre les deux villes, mais sa mise en circulation a été arrêtée à cause du COVID et ne recommencera qu’en septembre.
